North Lodge Swimming Academy was designed and built in 1966 by former Olympian Jim O’Doherty.

The Pools

The 25 metre heated pool and 8 metre ‘Mini Pool’ were designed for the purpose of teaching people of all ages to swim in water of a depth in which they can comfortably stand and in an environment where they feel safe and secure; this enables us to achieve the very best results.

The Program

We have an excellent group of qualified staff who are experienced, committed and friendly. We offer an excellent swimming program with well controlled and disciplined classes, offering excellent value for money. The emphasis on our program is to develop strong, safe swimmers with a healthy respect for the aquatic environment.

The Swimming Club

We have our own Swimming Club, O’Doherty’s Swimming Team, for swimmers interested in competing at Club, Interclub, State and National levels.
